We read in the Bible, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Prov. 22:6).
My introduction to and acceptance of Christian Science came as a natural and beautiful experience. At the early age of six I was taken to a Christian Science Sunday School by an older sister who had learned something of this blessed religion from an aunt, our only relative, other than our maternal grandmother in a far-away state, who was interested in Science.
I must have been immediately convinced of the marvelous truths I was to learn of myself and of God's care of me, for I turned instinctively to the light of this Science, and there was no longer a desire to go to Sunday School anywhere else. And so I have been educated over the years to know God and to feel His presence with me always wherever I may be. I was almost completely free from so-called children's diseases, and my attendance record at school was nearly perfect, I am grateful for parents who gave me the freedom to attend the Sunday School of my choice.
