David Makes a Testimony
[Of Special Interest to Children]
One Saturday morning David heard his little sister calling loudly: "Mother! Mother!" Now David knew that at that moment his mother was giving a Christian Science treatment, that is, helping someone through prayer; and he knew that Mother needed to be quiet. So he said to his sister: "Don't call Mother now. She is making a testimony."
You know, a testimony is what someone tells about his healing through Christian Science when he wants to express his gratitude for it. And because David had learned that Christian Science treatment heals, he was sure that a testimony would result from his mother's prayerful treatment.
Do you know why David felt so sure a treatment would heal? Because he himself had learned how to pray. In the Christian Science Sunday School he attended, his whole class had learned the first verse of Mrs. Eddy's poem entitled, '"Feed My Sheep"' (Poems, p.14),
