A number of years ago my husband...
A number of years ago my husband was called to another city to fill a position, and it seemed wise not to follow him until he had tested his work and surroundings. The children and I moved into a small bungalow in which we lived for six months until we went to the new area.
This bungalow was perched high on the side of a hill in the suburbs of the city, and it was too far out and too high up for a telephone line. But throughout our whole experience in this vicinity, there was so much love expressed to us by our few neighbors that the fear of being without a telephone was completely erased.
A short time after moving to this home one of the children became very ill, and I was advised by a Christian Science practitioner to call the health officer, since she suspected that it was a reportable disease. I did so, and when he came he said that the boy had a bad case of scarlet fever and that we would have to be quarantined.
