RADIO PROGRAM No. 58 - Dealing with Fear at Exam Time

HOST: Examinations loom pretty large in every student's life. An article in The PTA Magazine commented: "With so much at stake, with admission to a cherished hall of ivy perhaps hanging in the balance, examination time is not a happy time. Nor can it ever become so by any conceivable psychological magic. Even the strong, secure adolescent is not immune to worry over the possibility of failure."

It's plain that this is one of the major problems a student faces.

SPEAKER: Yes it is. But an understanding of God can help you with something as practical as taking an exam. Christian Science shows why. You see, when we understand God to be the one, ever-present Mind and man to be made in His likeness, we see that man can never be separated from divine intelligence or from the ability to think and express himself clearly. Then we're better able to grasp and retain what we're taught. Also, we can overcome the fear of freezing up or getting rattled during an exam, and we're able to think clearly about the questions.
