"Perfect God and perfect man"

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Every morning before James goes to school, he sits down with his mother to read part of the Lesson-Sermon, outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly. He knows that if he fills his thinking with Godlike thoughts in the morning, those thoughts will help and protect him at school and all day long.

One morning he and his mother read this sentence from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 259): "The Christlike understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea,—perfect God and perfect man,—as the basis of thought and demonstration."

Mother reminded James of Jesus' words (Matt. 5:48), "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." And she said that Jesus always saw the perfect man, made in God's image and likeness, and that this perfect seeing healed the sick.
