"The true path"
[Of Special Interest to Children]
Along the road near Johnny's house lived a young Alsatian dog named Bruce. He was very playful, and as Johnny and his friends passed on their way to school, he would run towards them and leap up in welcome. He loved children, and this was his way of showing his joy and affection.
One day Johnny's mother noticed that the group of children was going a different way to school, a back way, seldom used and leading through rough wasteland.
On being questioned about why the children were taking this different path, Johnny replied, "Some of my friends are afraid of Bruce, and when we go the back way, we don't meet him."
