Signs of the Times
A news item from Lakeside, Ohio in The Cincinnati Enquirer Cincinnati, Ohio
A call for abstinence, not moderation, from all alcoholic beverages was issued at the Methodist Church's Ohio annual conference here.... Delegates urged "voluntary abstinence from alcoholic beverages as an act of faith and love" and disagreed with a position adopted by some churches for moderation. The conference called for legislation to restrict liquor advertising and eliminate liquor service on airlines.
