Overcoming Belief in Matter and Evil
"When ... God's power is understood, the laws of good
will operate to correct every wrong condition"
The great discovery, made by Mrs. Eddy, that matter and evil are unreal brought ridicule upon her. But having made her discovery and having proved its truth to her entire satisfaction by healing many cases of disease and sin, she labored to share her understanding of God's allness with mankind.
The teachings of Christian Science may seem startling to the human, material thought, which believes so firmly in the reality and the power of matter and evil. Nevertheless, this Science continues to declare and insist that Spirit, God, good, is the only power and the only reality and that material sense, or evil, is a lie, as Jesus declared, and is therefore unreal, nothing.
And what is the result of these teachings? Those who have accepted them have, through small beginnings, proved for themselves that the realization of the allness of good destroys the belief in evil. In other words, these students of Christian Science have been healed of sin, sickness, and limitation.
