It is a privilege to testify to the healing power of Christian Science. When I was a child, life always bothered me because of the illness and tragedy which seemed to prevail. Nothing I learned in an orthodox Sunday School satisfied me as to what God was and why He created us.

While I was training to be a pilot during the Second World War, I met my wife, who had attended a Christian Science Sunday School. I did not pay any attention to her religion until I was in a plane crash during a flight test. The doctors at the hospital said it had affected my eyes and that I would probably have bad eyesight and frequent headaches the rest of my life and could never fly again.

I asked about Christian Science; and my wife gave me some literature to read, and a practitioner worked for me. Within three weeks I was out of the hospital; and within two months I had passed a physical examination and was placed on flying duty again.
