When I was seven years old I...
When I was seven years old I had infantile paralysis. The doctor told my parents that he had done all he could and that he was going to consult two specialists. After the consultation, the family doctor in the presence of the two specialists gave their opinion that there was absolutely no chance of recovery for me. They said that my left lung was useless, my throat paralyzed, my left side paralyzed, and that if I did live, I would never be able to walk again.
Up to this time my parents did not know anything about Christian Science, but "man's extremity is God's opportunity." My uncle, who was a Christian Scientist, asked my parents to try his religion. They did.
Treatment was given me by a devoted practitioner. This was in July, and on the first of September I was ready for school, completely well. I am now in excellent health, and I can take part in any kind of sports and activities that I want to.
I am grateful that I am a member of The Mother Church and that I have had class instruction.—(Miss) Marian Corya, Beardstown, Illinois.
