Of the many healings and blessings I have had through the study and application of Christian Science, there is one experience which stands out like a beacon. No doubt this is due to the fact that it was such a grand lesson on the value of obedience.

It happened several years ago when I had a full day of spring housecleaning planned. My habit is to study the Lesson-Sermon from the Quarterly each morning. This particular morning I decided that since I had so much work to do, I would skip the lesson. But the thought came to me, "Put God first." Soon I became so absorbed in studying that I lost all sense of time and gave the lesson deeper thought than usual.

As I started cleaning, I felt impelled to declare the truth of man. I was obedient and declared all the spiritual truths I could think of. Finally I was led to stop work and open the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy at various places. Each time a particular truth on the page seemed to stand out to me. Some time later, I felt impelled to study Mrs. Eddy's answer to the question, "What is man?" Once more I was obedient and turned to page 475 of Science and Health and studied what we are told there of man, including these words: "Man is idea, the image, of Love; he is not physique."
