Pupils Bring Good to the Community

A community is greatly blessed by having a Christian Science Sunday School in its midst, and, in turn, the Sunday School is blessed by receiving as pupils the children from the community who are eager to know more of God and of His healing power. Reports indicate that an increased number of children are being enrolled in the Sunday Schools who have had no previous connection with Christian Science.

What better representatives of Christian Science can possibly be sent forth into the community than well-taught Sunday School pupils? Their good behavior, their knowledge of and trust in God as the only power, and their demonstrations of the Christ, Truth, should make a favorable impression on other children as well as adults.

Article XX of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy provides that the Sunday School children shall be taught the Scriptures. In Section 3 we read: "The first lessons of the children should be the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:3-17), the Lord's Prayer (Matt. 6:9-13), and its Spiritual Interpretation by Mary Baker Eddy, Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5:3-12)."
