One of the Beatitudes which...
One of the Beatitudes which Jesus gave to us reads, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled" (Matt. 5:6). As a very young girl, I felt a longing to find and to know God. Frequently, I would go alone into the woods or to the seaside, and
I had a feeling I could almost hear God's voice in the wind, in the trees, or in the roar of the waves. Like Job's, my cry was (23:3), "Oh that I knew where I might find him!"
This longing to find and to know God continued throughout the years. After I became a wife and mother, I was in great need of mental and physical healing. Medicine and surgery had failed me repeatedly; then one day, while resting in a hotel lobby, I picked up a copy of the Sentinel and read it completely through. After reading it, I was so inspired that I immediately canceled an appointment which had been made with a prominent surgeon for a third abdominal operation.
