God Was There First

"Whatever the evil portent, God and His Christ are ever on the scene first"

The Bible establishes God's supreme position as the first and only cause of all existence, and Christians the world over sing with the Psalmist these words: "Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God" (Ps. 90:2). And when the children of Israel wandered into evil ways, the prophet Isaiah exhorted them with this persuasive declaration to turn again to the one and only God (44:6): "Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God."
