It is with sincere gratitude for all that Christian Science has meant to me and my family for many years that I submit this testimony. This religion came into our experience at a period when I was laid low with illness and a terrible fear of trying to go on any longer. I had been left a widow with very young children, whom I was neither physically well enough to care for nor financially able to provide for.

Then one day a neighbor of mine placed a Sentinel at my bedside with the gentle admonition, "Read it." The logic of the articles and the sincerity of the testimonies of healing impressed me so deeply that hope dawned for the first time in many months. I began the daily study of the Lesson-Sermons, outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly, started attending Christian Science church services, and placed the children in Sunday School.

As I read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, especially the chapter entitled "Genesis," a great light flooded my consciousness, and suddenly I found myself saying aloud, "Now I know who I really am."
