Church Dedications
Stevens Point Daily Journal
Stevens Point, Wisconsin (First Church).
Dedication ceremonies at the new church edifice of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Stevens Point, will be held Sunday. The dedication will take place at two services, the regular 10:45 a.m. service, and a second at 3:15 p.m.
The new church, a diamond-shaped redwood structure at 1704 Main St., was started in August, 1958, and the first services were held on Jan. 4, 1959. Under the regulations of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Mass., edifices cannot be dedicated until the congregation is debt-free, a condition that now can be satisfied here.
