I attended a Christian Science Sunday School regularly from my early teens until reaching twenty years of age. The understanding of God which I gained there proved invaluable during the months that preceded the birth of our second child. When our first baby was born, the medical doctor required by law had performed a Caesarean section, saying that this method of delivery would be necessary in future births. During the second pregnancy, my husband and I turned earnestly to the Scriptures and to the writings of Mrs. Eddy and had the help of a Christian Science practitioner.

There was much fear to be overcome, but an earnest daily study of the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly provided all the spiritual strength and courage necessary to meet the challenge. The birth took place normally, quickly, and without any ill effects.
