WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST
[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on April 1, 1962.]
The Word was with God (John 1:1)
The Greek preposition pros (with) is found in the New Testament in a variety of senses. Primarily it has the implication of "motion towards" an object or person, but it often corresponds almost exactly to the French chez. McGregor contends that as used here it expresses "nearness" combined with the sense of "movement towards" God, thus indicating an active relationship.
Thy word is true from the beginning (Ps. 119:160)
