OUR READING ROOM
We
welcome all; within this quiet room
For us the table of the feast is spread,
And placed thereon abundantly is bread,
Sustenance from heaven; he to whom
This bread is given shall be satisfied.
Here tenderly and gently is supplied
Milk for the babes in Christ, of whom Paul spake,
That they may grow in grace; and here is store
Of meat for those grown mighty in the Lord,
Meat for strong men. Here freely is outpoured
The pure and living water; we may slake
Our thirst, nor thirst again forevermore.
And here is offered wine of inspiration,
Here too is proffered oil for consecration.
Listen, how still the words of welcome call:
"Find here the meat and bread, the oil and wine,
The milk, the living water; come and dine."
The feast waits ever, and we welcome all.
