I should like to share an experience...
I SHOULD like to share an experience resulting in the protection of a crop through the application of Christian Science.
My son-in-law approached me on a Sunday morning, stating that he had not rested well through the night because of his anxiety about our row crop on the farm. He continued to explain that unless something was done, chinch bugs would destroy our milo, which was then only five to six inches tall.
An army of bugs was advancing upon the crop from a nearby field of wheat stubble. My son-in-law, who is not a student of Christian Science, proceeded to spray the field. My first reaction to this situation was: "Well, here is a challenge. Get busy." I knew from my study of Christian Science that the spiritual creation, including all God's lesser ideas, animals and plants, is perfect and forever protected by Him. Mrs. Eddy tells us (Science and Health, p. 509): "So-called mineral, vegetable, and animal substances are no more contingent now on time or material structure than they were when 'the morning stars sang together.' Mind made the 'plant of the field before it was in the earth.'"
