God Is Present Everywhere
[Of Special Interest to Children]
Many years ago a little girl named Sandra lived with her parents on a great barren desert. She had no brothers or sisters, and there were no children nearby for her to play with. In those days there was no radio or television; but there was an ebony piano in the front room, and Sandra's mother used to play on it and sing to her. Best of all, though, Sandra liked to sing hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal with her mother. Father would sing with them too sometimes after supper.
Since Sandra had no school to go to, her mother taught her school lessons every day and also read to her from the Bible and from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The whole family—Father, Mother, and Sandra—had many beautiful healings from this daily reading.
One day Sandra became ill, and her mother read to her a great deal from the Bible and Science and Health; but Sandra only grew worse. On the third morning, after an uncomfortable night, Sandra cried out: "Dear God, why doesn't the reading heal me? It always has before."
