It was about two years ago that doctors told me there was no medicine of any sort that could help a mental state of depression and nervousness which was preventing me from sleeping. In forlornness and despir I went to the Reading Room of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hong Kong, hoping that I could find something helpful.

Nobody had introduced me there, but the advertisement put in the local newspaper by the church had attracted me. The word "Science" seemed to give me a hunch. I met a very affiable member of the church in the Reading Room, and the comfort I gained from the truths of God and man which he told me enabled me to sleep that night and succeeding nights. Since then, I have attended the church services regularly.

Though English is not my native language, I have obtained invaluable benefits from the church services and from the study of Mrs. Eddy's great book Science and Health. I have so completely overcome my nervousness that I was able to stand up to give a testimony of Christian Science healing at a Wednesday evening meeting about a year ago.
