I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for the many blessings I have received since taking up its study. I have either witnessed in my family or experienced myself many physical healings. I should like to tell of two I had many years ago.

I was chipping ice for dinner when the ice pick slipped and went through one of my index fingers. Since I was finishing the meal I did not have much time for prayerful metaphysical work, but I held closely to "the scientific statement of being," given on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, trying to realize the truths it contains. One of these truths is, "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness."

I hoped that no one at the dinner table would notice the bandage on my finger, because I wanted no sympathy, as this might make the injury seem more real to me. No one mentioned the bandage.
