It has been my joy and privilege...
It has been my joy and privilege to have known of Christian Science since early childhood and to have attended a Christian Science Sunday School.
While attending a gymnastic class in high school, I was climbing a rope. I lost my grip and fell to the floor, a distance of about twenty-five feet. Upon attempting to rise I found that one ankle was severely sprained. I was able to get home, and immediately upon doing so I called a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. Although the pain was not intense, I was concerned because the next day, Saturday, I was to work in a neighborhood store.
The practitioner on whom I had called for help directed my attention to these words by Mrs. Eddy on page 385 of Science and Health: "Whatever it is your duty to do, you can do without harm to yourself." Prayerful treatment was continued for me, and that evening I fell asleep peacefully. The next morning the ankle was normal, and I was able to work and to be on my feet as usual all day with no discomfort. I was very grateful for this healing.
