After a serious operation, during...
After a serious operation, during which a major part of what is considered a vital gland was removed, I was told by doctors that I would have to be satisfied with much less activity in my experience. In other words, I was to be a semi-invalid. After about five years of taking medicine and limiting my activity to the minimum, I was still sick and very unhappy. I finally decided I was not satisfied to have half a life.
I was led to the study of Christian Science and knew that it could heal me. I soon realized that since my true selfhood is that of man, the perfect idea of God, I am God's responsibility. I was willing to trust the truth of this fact, and I turned wholeheartedly to the study of Science, praying for understanding that I might know man's individual relationship to the divine Mind which expresses the perfection that underlies all reality.
I was healed of the chronic painful condition, healed instantly and permanently of the smoking habit and of social drinking, and also healed of fear and a sense of futility.
