Church Dedications

Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

Waterloo, Lancashire, England (Society).

There will be two dedication services—one at 11 a.m., the other at 3 p.m.—at the church edifice of Christian Science Society, Waterloo, 7 Crosby Road South, on Sunday.

The society started services and Sunday School in 1951, in rented rooms at Waterloo Liberal Club. In 1952, the group was accepted as a Christian Science Society, a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.

In 1953, a Reading Room was established in ground-floor premises in Church Road, Waterloo.

It was in July, 1956, that the possible purchase of the freehold premises in Crosby Road South from the Liberal Club came up for discussion, and in February, 1957, the purchase was completed. Remodelling was started, and an electric organ was bought in December, 1959.

A grant from the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, and contributions from members, former members and friends, have made the dedication possible.—Crosby Herald (October 13, 1961).
