With deep gratitude to God, to Christian Science, and to the practitioner who has stood by me and my family in times of stress, I should like to give the following testimony.

Many years ago my mother was healed of a serious blood disease in an advanced stage. Fear and attacks of weakness were overcome through trust in divine Love. Her experience, proving that God preserves man, the expression of His being, has been an inspiration to us through the years. But, even more than her healing, her spirituality of thought and her conviction of God's presence witness more convincingly to the truth of Christian Science.

Not long ago our two-and-a-half-year-old son was playing with a Swiss Independence Day medal. Before I could take it away from him, he put it into his mouth and swallowed it. At first we thought the medal would pass from him naturally. When this did not occur, we began to pray earnestly. However, nothing happened, and after twelve days I became anxious and took the boy to the hospital for an X-ray picture. The doctors told me that the medal was still in his stomach and that we could no longer hope that it would pass from him. They advised me to leave our son there for an operation.
