Dr. Harold K. Schilling, professor of physics and dean of the Graduate School at Pennsylvania State University,... in a press conference on the Oberlin campus where he [delivered]...his six-lecture series..."On the Nature of Science and Religion—A Comparative Study"...[was] queried by newsmen as to why he has become so active in the field of religion. Dr. Schilling replied, "I grew up in a religious home, and a few years ago I realized if I really meant what I profess, then I better begin to use my talents...." Since then he has been active in religious areas....

Dr. Schilling [noted] that many physical scientists are going through the same religious experience as he, noting that 20 years ago there was little or no interest among scientists in the relationship of science and religion. "Today, people are searching for truth, for God," he declared....
