Spiritual Resources

In one of his parables (Luke 16), Christ Jesus commended the wise husbanding of our resources, indicating that only as we are faithful in that which is least shall we be faithful in much. In other words, to make proper use of our spiritual resources we must make proper use of our natural resources and capacities.

The resources of a country— its actual and potential wealth— are enhanced by the skills that transform raw materials into finished products. For instance, the ability to make a desert into a garden is of more value to a country than the desert itself. "Human skill but foreshadows what is next to appear as its divine origin," Mrs. Eddy states in her book "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 232).
