"The fires of Spirit ... can never be stopped in
their regenerating, healing work"
In his letter to the early Christian workers the writer of Hebrews said (12:29), "Our God is a consuming fire." One might be inclined to ask: To what is God a consuming fire? What is it that the pure fires of Truth and Love consume? Has God made something destructible, something which needs to be consumed?
