WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST

[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on April 23, 1961.]

Shall not see when heat cometh (Jer. 17:8)

In the Hebrew the word translated "see" differs by only one letter from another verb which means "fear" and which is upheld by the Septuagint (Greek) and other early Versions. Various modern translators accept the latter rendering. For example, Moffatt reads, "Untouched by any fear of scorching heat."
