I am more than grateful for...

I am more than grateful for Christian Science. Many years ago I was rescued from inertia, apathy, and sensualism through the gentle persuasions of my sister, who is a Christian Scientist, and by a compassionate Christian Science practitioner.

The first ray of hope came to me when the practitioner said: "God needs you. All Mind's ideas have a place in the divine plan." This statement dispelled the fear that there was no room for me in the business world. I learned that as we express the qualities which Christ Jesus set forth in the Beatitudes, such as receptivity to good, purity, and loving-kindness, our steps are led into the right path. The step-pingstones which took me to congenial employment during a time of so-called world depression seemed wonderful to me, and afterwards I was led to a happy marriage and motherhood.

For several years after the birth of our son, I had a great deal of fear to overcome. When he was a young child, he was often troubled with constipation. I had to learn to trust him to God's care. As I did this the difficulty occurred less frequently and finally disappeared.
