NOEL
Luke 2:13, 14
The
gentle lamb—it must have heard
The angel song cascading down
Through star-illumined air. The bird
Deep in the olive tree—it must
Have wakened to the singing, stirred
Its nest, and sung an answering note.
The angel music from above
Falls gently on the world. It soothes
The lamb and wakes the soft-winged dove
With dulcet tenderness. It finds
An innocent response to Love
In all the little ones of earth.
