During my Sunday School days...

During my Sunday School days in an orthodox church, I cultivated a high regard for the Holy Bible and its teachings, especially for its high ideals and moral instructions. As I grew older I loved the accounts of Abraham, of Daniel in the lions' den, of the Hebrews in the fiery furnace, of David and his love, courage, and loyalty, and of Christ Jesus and his marvelous works.

All this made a deep impression on me, but in later years as discords—discouragement, sickness, and a sense of failure—began to appear in my experience, I wondered if the great teachings and promises of the Bible were practical in this day and age and in the world in which I lived.

The answer came when Christian Science was presented to me. It revealed God's infinite power and goodness to His children. I learned as Mrs. Eddy says on page 494 of Science and Health, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." Through the help of a Christian Science practitioner I was healed of a severe case of influenza in two days. After this and other healings, I discarded all material remedies and relied entirely on God.
