RADIO PROGRAM No. 392 - How Grief Was Overcome

SPEAKER: All through the Bible there's a clear, strong message of the eternal nature of God, of His unceasing goodness, of His everlasting kindness and love. In a world where everything seems to be changing and uncertain, it's reassuring to us to know that the source of all good, of joy, happiness, well-being, in fact, the source of Life itself, remains constant, unchanged. Mrs. Virginia Nichols Chancey, of Dallas, Texas, has something very helpful to tell us about this.

MRS. CHANCEY: I know what you've been saying is true. I've studied Christian Science all my life, and so I've had many proofs of this. I won't say I haven't had difficult experiences to face up to. I have. But I've learned that whatever is real does have a divine source and that man can never actually be cut off from this source no matter what the outward picture may be.

The understanding of this was a great comfort to me when both my parents passed on within a few months of each other, and it enabled me to overcome a sense of loss and grief. And it was this same understanding that sustained me completely a few years later when I was faced with the sudden passing of my husband after seventeen years of wonderful companionship and happiness.
