Chardon, Ohio (Society).

Christian Science Society, Chardon, Ohio, will dedicate its new church building on Daniels Drive, overlooking the shopping plaza, next Sunday. Services will be held at 11 a.m. and at 3.30 p.m....

In 1942 a group of Chardon residents formed the society, and on September 17 of the same year it was recognized as a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. Regular Sunday services were begun July 12, 1942, in the cafeteria of the public school. After September all services were held in rented quarters on the second floor of the Memorial Building.

In March, 1958, the society bought the lot on Daniels Drive. Construction of the church was begun in July, 1959, and the opening service was held in it on November 1.

Members of the society received contributions from friends and grants from the Selina C. Cornish Fund and from the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, all helping to make possible this dedication.—The Times Leader (April 7, 1960).
