This testimony is submitted as an expression of gratitude for the many blessings which have come to me since I became a student of Christian Science. I can truly say that what I am most grateful for is my increased understanding of the fundamental rules of Science and their application in my daily life. God has become to me not a far-off, nebulous individual whom I regard with profound respect and a little fear, but a very present Father, who is Love, with whom I can commune, knowing that He hears and responds to my every righteous call for help.

Our family has witnessed many instances of the healing power of Christian Science. An outstanding one occurred a number of years ago. Just after I had retired, I suffered a sudden attack of pain; then I lapsed into unconsciousness and lay in a coma for a day and a half. My wife and a dear friend, who is a Christian Science practitioner, prayed through the rest of that night and all the next day until I responded. When I regained consciousness I found that one of my feet was discolored and showed evidence of blood poisoning; this was healed in a few days. There has been no return of the condition.

A quick healing occurred one day when my son drove me downtown. When we reached our destination I opened the front door of the car to alight and put my hand around the back door post; my grandson got out of the back door and without looking around slammed it on my fingers. I involuntarily cried out, for the pain was very great.
