Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

The Tacoma News Tribune

Tacoma, Washington (Second Church).

Dedication services for Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Tacoma, Washington, will be held at 11 a.m. and 3.30 p.m., Sunday at South Fifty-fourth and Warner Streets. The public is invited.

The building was completed in December, 1957. A sizable gift in December, 1959, entirely freed the property from debt....

The church grew from services begun by students of Christian Science in 1916 and developed into a Christian Science Society, which was recognized by The Mother Church in September, 1917. The society's change of title to Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Tacoma, was recognized by The Mother Church in November, 1919.

The church maintains a Reading Room at 5416 South Tacoma Way.—The Tacoma News Tribune (June 10, 1960).
