"God is All-in-all"

"God is All-in-all." This fact stated by Mrs. Eddy on page 113 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" declaring the all-inclusiveness of God, Spirit, indicates that everything that is real emanates from and is included in Spirit, Soul. There is nothing outside infinity; nothing apart from it. Religionists the world over agree with this fundamental fact up to a certain point.

But there is a correlative fact that, although just as fundamental, is not so easily accepted. It is this: Spirit excludes everything that does not have God as its source. This does not mean that Spirit is engaged in a continuous effort to exclude some foreign element, quality, or condition. It means that because of Spirit's all-inclusiveness there is nothing for Spirit to contend with. The spiritual realm cannot, and does not, include a single element or condition of matter or evil.

One has taken an important step in the spiritualizing of his thinking when he is prepared to acknowledge this fact. But there are other steps that he must take if he would make practical use of what is here acknowledged; he must deny the existence of matter or evil; he must acknowledge that there is no realm for such unrealities to occupy and no consciousness that can be deceived to believe in their existence.
