About a year ago my right eye became inflamed and irritated. At once I began to work as we learn to do in Christian Science, basing my prayer on the Bible statement (Gen. 1: 31), "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good."

When I went to bed that evening I picked up a Sentinel and read a testimony in which the writer related a healing she had experienced of swollen and inflamed eyes. I was deeply grateful for the privilege of reading this helpful experience. Soon afterward I fell asleep, and when I awoke in the morning I was free from pain, and the eye was normal. I was very grateful to God for this healing and thanked Him for His love.

More recently a sore manifested itself on one of my fingers. It was not painful but developed into a lump which lasted for several months. During this period I did considerable reading from the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings. Our Leader's words in Science and Health (p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive," were very helpful. Also, I tried to obey her counsel (ibid., p. 261), "Look away from the body into Truth and Love, the Principle of all happiness, harmony, and immortality."
