I had the privilege of being reared by parents who were students of Christian Science, and I attended the Christian Science Sunday School from infancy until I was twenty. I was healed of several so-called children's diseases. I can recall that when a problem presented itself for solution and my mother would ask what I should like to have her read, I would almost always ask for the testimonies from The Christian Science Journal or the Sentinel. Because I benefited so much from them, I feel I should now contribute one of my own.

When I went out for tennis in college, I had to submit periodically to a doctor's check for what he diagnosed as high blood pressure. At that time I was not studying Science as I should have and later dropped the sport rather than submit to the checkups. After I married, I began using Christian Science more and joined a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. Shortly afterward, my wife also joined.

I was soon inducted into the Army in World War II, and the physical examination showed no indication of high blood pressure. I saw clearly that the condition had been caused by fear, which arose when I had visited the doctor at college, and this fear had now been largely overcome.
