Early in my study of Christian Science...
Early in my study of Christian Science I was away from my home and caught a severe cold. I was called home, but the only train available was a night mail train with no sleeping accommodation. I was scheduled to change trains in a large city; but instead of making the connection, I went to a hotel and called a practitioner. Having had a medical nurse's training, I concluded that I was suffering from pneumonia.
The practitioner came promptly and worked prayerfully for me. I had a complete healing and was on my way home the next morning, driving the distance of about one hundred miles in an automobile as this was quicker than waiting for the next train. For this healing, I am grateful to God.
I should also like to tell of a healing which occurred in our family when an infant was pronounced blind at birth. I have always been grateful that we accepted the truth of these words of Mrs. Eddy: "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized" (Science and Health, p. 167).
