February 7 will be a significant day for First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bloomington, Indiana. On this day the church at 2425 East Third Street will be dedicated. The community is invited to attend the two dedication services, one at 10.45 a.m. and the other at 3.00 p.m. The services will be identical.
Christian Scientists have been active in Bloomington since 1896 when this religion was introduced to the community as a result of the complete healing of an invalid who could not walk without crutches. She and her husband interested their friends, a clergyman and his wife.... With some other friends they held services in homes. The former clergyman became the first Christian Science practitioner listed in The Christian Science Journal as residing in Bloomington.
