I Should like to express my love and gratitude for Christian Science, for what it has done and is doing not only for me but for the world. Its teachings were introduced to me by a stranger whom I met while I was out walking on a cold morning in January about thirteen years ago. She spoke to me very lovingly, and I told her I was trying to walk a mile a day at the recommendation of the doctor to regain my health. The woman then asked me, "Why don't you try Christian Science and be well and happy?"

I asked her to tell me something about it, and she did. All that I later remembered of what she told me was that God is Love and that He heals us of our diseases. I realized then that Christian Science was what I wanted and had been seeking, for I had spent many weeks in hospitals having serious operations, and I was due to have two more. I felt so uplifted after hearing these encouraging words of comfort that I forgot to continue my walk and hurried home to tell my family.

My husband was willing to have me try Christian Science, and he helped me to find the woman who had told me of it. I went to see her, and she told me where Christian Science services were held and gave me a copy of The Christian Science Journal. I started attending the services immediately and wrote to a practitioner, who helped me right away through prayer.
