I could not accept the religion in which I had been reared, and opportunities to learn about other denominations were presented to me when, as a soloist, I sang in different churches. However, none of them seemed to fill my need.

In the pursuit of one of my avocations I became associated with a Christian Scientist. At the time I was unaware of Science and its teachings, but I was deeply impressed by the love and consideration this woman expressed to everyone. It was some time later that I was led to inquire into the teachings of Christian Science and to accept them. I shall always be grateful for this religion and for what it has meant and continues to mean to me. In the intervening years I have had a number of healings, some through the prayers of a practitioner, others through my own application of the truths of Science.

One healing was of particular interest to me. From my early teens I had been subject to attacks of migraine. One Wednesday evening, while I was attending a testimony meeting in the branch church of which I am a member, a testimony was given concerning the healing of the condition. Just as the testifier was completing the testimony, I realized that I had not had such an attack in several years. I had not done any specific prayerful work to heal the condition, but the truths I had been eagerly learning and earnestly endeavoring to put into daily practice had completely annihilated it. There has been no recurrence of the difficulty.
