Christian Science did not come...
Christian Science did not come into my family because of a need for the healing of sickness, but was brought to us by dear relatives who evidently wanted to do us some kindness. The application of Science has made it possible to reject disease as actually untrue, because not made by divine Love, the only creator, and thus to heal it in its early stages. When properly applied, Science is indeed an effective preventive means.
For many years now, I have endeavored to know God's way and His will under every circumstance and to trust Him unreservedly. This I have been able to do through earnest study of the Bible and of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Unusual situations have often required intensive protective work, which I have been able to do successfully through the understanding of Psalm 91 and verse 6 of Psalm 118 which reads, "The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?"
However, I have never felt God's protection as clearly as I did about three years ago when I made a change of residence; this was attended by many difficulties. At a crucial moment on my journey these words came to me from Hymn No. 33 in the Christian Science Hymnal:
