My mother became interested in Christian Science when I was in my early teens, and it was at this time that I received my first healing. A large lump appeared on the bottom of my foot, causing severe pain when I walked. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and treatment was given which resulted in a complete healing the next day.

It was soon after this healing that I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School, which I attended until leaving home to enter a boarding school in another city. During my last term of school I awoke one morning unable to move because of a severe pain in my hip; this continued for several days. I finally decided to ask my roommate to telephone a practitioner and request treatment for me. In a couple of days after the treatment was given I was up and attending classes, perfectly well and free from pain.

When our youngest daughter was about seven years old, she was invited to take a short ride in a small plane with a little girl and the two men who owned it. My husband and I gave our consent, and they took off, circling around the city. As the plane was coming in to land, we could see that it was out of control.
