Finding Our Home
God created man in His own image and likeness and provided for him a home. This home is God's kingdom of perfection and harmony, in which all really live and have being. Man cannot be ejected from his eternal home or heavenly dwelling place. Christian Science affirms that God did not and could not create man outside His own consciousness, or contemplative knowledge. All that He made exists within the infinitude of divine Love, in which there is no matter, sin, disease, or death.
The Psalmist said (Ps. 90:1), "Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations." This truth is a guide to mankind in recognizing their eternal home at hand even while mortal sense asserts that this home is nonattainable or nondemonstrable. The fact that we are able to think and choose good opens the door to the enjoyment of our true home.
Home is much more than a place to live. It is a heavenly, concordant expression of Mind. It is a spiritual power in our lives, a power which can be understood and demonstrated.
