Alleluia (Rev. 19:1)

(al'e-lu'ya—first a as in add, e as in event, u as in cube, second a as in sofa). Alleluia is simply the Greek form of the Hebrew Hallelu-jah, "Praise ye Jah," Jah being an abbreviated form of Jehovah, or more correctly Yahweh. Hallelujah is usually rendered, "Praise ye the Lord."
