My first testimony appeared in...
My first testimony appeared in the Sentinel of January 31,1953. Again I should like to express gratitude for the blessings that continue to unfold through the study and application of Christian Science.
Some years ago, when I reached the age of threescore years and ten, I gave the matter little thought. But friends began to tell me I should slow down and take it easy. I also remember as a child hearing older people talking about living on borrowed time. Soon I found I was listening to some of these mesmeric, suggestions. One Wednesday evening I was in a nearby town to attend the testimony meeting. The hall in which the meeting was held was over a store. It was a hot night, and I felt a little dizzy; so I walked up the street looking in the windows until it was time for the meeting to begin.
One store window contained a card giving the symptoms of heart trouble, advising that if one had any of them it would be wise to have a physical checkup. I had five of them. I became so weak I could hardly stand. I made my way to the hall with difficulty and sat on a back seat, trembling.
